Pierre-Maxime Poudrier is making quite the impression on his new hockey club.
The 18-year-old forward scored two goals and added two assists as his Val-d'Or Foreurs downed the visiting Victoriaville Tigres 7-2 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Poudrier has picked up at least one point in each of the three games he's played with Val-d'Or since being acquired from the Quebec Remparts, and he has three goals and seven points in the process.
Anton Zlobin continued his hot streak for the Foreurs (19-17-3), who have won back-to-back contests, by scoring a goal and three assists.
The 19-year-old Russian has six goals and 16 points in his last five outings and his 53 points in 33 games moves him into the top-10 in QMJHL scoring.
Cedrick Henley scored twice while Samuel Henley and Anthony Mantha had a goal apiece to round out Val-d'Or's offence.
Angelo Miceli scored both goals for the Tigres (15-18-7), who are now winless in four contests.
Francois Tremblay stopped 32 shots while Brandon Whitney picked up the loss after allowing five goals on 21 shots through 40 minutes of action. Steven Veilleux came in to play the third period for Victoriaville and stopped 12-of-14 shots in relief.
Val-d'Or went 3 for 4 on the power play while Victoriaville scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

At Val-d'Or, Que., Henly opened the scoring with a power-play goal 11:38 into the first period and Zlobin made it 2-0 minutes later.
Poudrier scored back-to-back goals early in the second period, including one while shorthanded, and Henley added one more on the power play to make it 5-0 Val-d'Or after 40 minutes of action.
Miceli put Victoriaville on the board 50 seconds into the third period and he made it 5-2 with a power-play goal at 9:01, however Henley responded for the Foreurs while with the man advantage and Mantha added a late goal to round out Val-d'Or's scoring.

At Halifax, Sebastien Auger stopped 43-of-45 shots and Jakub Izacky scored 1:34 into overtime as Saint John (18-20-0) ended the Mooseheads' (32-3-3) 18-game winning streak at the Halifax Metro Centre.
