Penguins center Sidney Crosby
will miss his second straight game with a groin injury in Pittsburgh's matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks
at United Center Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Crosby, who missed the Penguins' 1-0 victory over the New York Islanders
Wednesday, tested the groin for an extended period at the team's morning skate but determined that he wasn't ready to play.
Crosby initially suffered the groin injury last Sunday in Washington. He participated in a full practice Monday but soreness forced him to leave practice early on Tuesday and Wednesday. Crosby sat out Thursday's practice to rest his groin.
It will mark the third game this season that Crosby has missed. A knee injury sidelined him for the Jan. 16 game against Anaheim.
