ERIE, Pa. - David Davenport made 23 saves as the Owen Sound Attack handed the Erie Otters their franchise-record 14th straight loss with a 4-0 decision in Ontario Hockey League action on Wednesday night.
The Otters (3-15-1-1) have scored an OHL-low 49 goals in 20 games. They were shut out for the third time this season and the second time at home.
Wayne Simmonds led the Attack (7-13-1-0) with a goal and an assist. Scott Tregunna, Michael Farrell and Matt Carter added goals to a balanced attack featuring 10 players with points.
Owen Sound outshot the Otters 43-23 as rookie goaltender Shane Owen made 39 saves in his second career start.
Owen Sound has won five of six since snapping a 10-game losing streak. Three of the wins have come against the Otters.
Erie has lost five straight at home after starting the season 2-0. The franchise record is seven consecutive home defeats, set last season.
