Oshawa star Tavares scores two goals as Generals cruise past Erie 6-2 @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - John Tavares scored twice to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 6-2 victory over the Erie Otters on Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

With the two goals, Tavares moved into second all time on the Generals' scoring list, behind only Marc Savard. Tavares leads the OHL in scoring with 11 goals and 18 points.

Alexander Denezhkin, Brett Parnham, Taylor Carnevale and Shea Kewin also scored for Oshawa (5-4-0-0).

Sean Jones and Luke Gadzic scored for Erie (2-5-1-0).

Oshawa's Kevin Bailie made 28 saves for the win.

Jaroslav Janus allowed all six Oshawa goals on 42 shots.

Neither team scored on the power play, with Oshawa going 0-for-4 and Erie 0-3.
