Oilers acquire Nikitin from Blue Jackets: report @NHLdotcom

The Edmonton Oilers on Friday acquired defenseman Nikita Nikitin from the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to a TSN report. There was no mention of the return to the Blue Jackets.

Nikitin can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

The 28-year-old had two goals, 15 points and a plus-9 rating while averaging 17:06 in ice time per game in 66 regular-season games. He also had zero points in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.

In four seasons with the St. Louis Blues and Blue Jackets, Nikitin has 13 goals and 65 points in 206 games.
