Oil Kings fail to make ground on Raiders in 3-1 loss to Swift Current @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oil Kings' push for a more secure foothold on the eighth and final playoff spot was stalled Friday night as they dropped a 3-1 decision to the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action.

Dillon Wagner scored the winner 2:16 into the third for Swift Current (39-27-1-1). Cody Eakin and Geordie Wudrick also scored. Jeff Lee replied for the Oil Kings (27-32-4-5).

The Saskatoon Blades helped Edmonton out by defeating the Prince Albert Raiders 5-4. The Raiders and Oil Kings remain tied for eighth with 63 points each.

Travis Yonkman made 30 saves for the Broncos. Torrie Jung stopped 28 shots in net for Edmonton.
