OHL Roundup: Otters win eighth in a row with 6-2 win over Frontenacs

KINGSTON, Ont. - Alex DeBrincat scored his league-leading 33rd goal of the season and added an assist as the Erie Otters extended their win streak to eight games with a 6-2 victory over the host Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Kyle Maksimovich also had a goal and an assist for the Otters (27-3-1) while Mitchell Byrne, Jordan Sambrook, Brett Neumann and Darren Raddysh rounded out the offence with a goal apiece.

Cody Caron and Ryan Verbeek found the back of the net for the Frontenacs (20-9-3).

Erie's Devin Wlliams made 23 saves for the win. Lucas Peressini started in net for Kingston and allowed three goals on six shots in a period of work. Jeremy Helvig came in to start the second and turned away 7-of-9 shots in relief.

The Otters went 0 for 5 on the power play while the Frontenacs scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

COLTS 5 BULLDOGS 1

BARRIE, Ont. ? Kevin Labanc scored once and set up two more and Ruan Badenhorst made 37 saves as the Colts toppled Hamilton.

Justin Scott and Anthony Stefano each had a goal and an assist for the Colts (18-11-0) while Adrian Carbonara and Zachary Magwood added the others.

Matt Luff kept the Bulldogs (11-17-3) from being shutout. Connor Hicks turned aside 37-of-42 shots in defeat.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. ??? Nick Suzuki struck twice as the Attack snapped their seven-game losing streak by downing struggling Sudbury.

Sean Durzi, Jonah Gadjovich and Josh Sterk also scored for Owen Sound (12-12-6), which got a 32-save performance from Daniel Dekoning.

Mikkel Aagaard, Alan Lyszczarczyk and Patrick Murphy each had a goal and an assist for the Wolves (5-23-3), who have dropped 17 games in a row. Troy Timpano stopped 44 shots in defeat.

Sudbury's Matt Schmalz was ejected at 10:10 of the second period for checking to the head.
