OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games @NHL

Tyson Teichmann finally earned his first win with the Erie Otters.

The veteran goaltender stopped 27 of 30 shots to help the Otters defeat the Sarnia Sting 5-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Teichmann, who improved to 1-13-0 on the season, won for the first time since defeating the Kitchener Rangers on March 5 while still a member of the Belleville Bulls.

Anthony Cortellessa had a goal and an assist for the Otters (5-27-2) while Liam Maaskant, Stephen Harper, Nick Betz and Connor Brown added singles.

Nail Yakupov and Brett Thompson each had a goal and an assist for the Sting (19-10-5) as Jack Nevins rounded out the scoring with a single goal.

Brandon Maxwell stopped 29 shots in defeat.

Both teams were successful on the power play as Erie went 3-for-8 and Sarnia 2-for-5.

The victory snapped a personal 19-game winless streak for Teichmann that began late in the 2010-11 season while still with the Bulls.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Guelph 7, Sault Ste. Marie 3; Niagara 3, Sudbury 1; Belleville 5, Plymouth 1; Saginaw 5, Windsor 4; Ottawa 6, Barrie 4 and Owen Sound 3, Kitchener 1.

At Erie, Pa., Brown opened the scoring at 16:23, on the power play, to give the Otters a 1-0 lead.

Maaskant then scored at 18:52, giving Erie a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Thomspon put Sarnia on the board at 7:23 of the second period with a power-play goal but Harper restored his team's two-goal lead less than two minutes later.

Before the period was through, Yakupov scored to make it a one-goal game heading into the third period.

Nevins tied the game with the man advantage at 7:17 however, a power-play goal from Betz put the Otters back out in front.

Cortellessa added another power-play goal with less than a minute to play, securing a 5-3 victory for Erie.

At Guelph, Ont., Scott Kosmachuk scored once and set up three others while Francis Menard, Hunter Garlent, Justin Auger and Zack Mitchell each recorded three-point games to lead the Storm (14-14-5) over Sault Ste. Marie (17-15-4).


IceDogs 3 Wolves 1

At St. Catharines, Ont., Niagara (19-12-3) scored all three of their goals with the man-advantage to beat Sudbury (17-12-1).


Bulls 5 Whalers 1

At Belleville, Ont., Malcom Subban stopped 33 of 34 shots while Adam Payerl and Brady Austin each had a goal and an assist to lift the Bulls (20-13-0) over Plymouth (22-9-3).


Spirit 5 Spitfires 4

At Saginaw, Mich., Ryan O'Connor's power-play goal with 35 seconds to play in the third period gave the Spirit (14-18-2) a victory over Windsor (17-16-4).


67's 6 Colts 4

At Barrie, Ont., Tyler Toffoli had two goals and an assist as Ottawa (19-9-5) defeated the Colts (18-12-3).


Attack 3 Rangers 1

At Owen Sound, Ont., Jordan Binnington turned aside 24 shots and Joseph Blandisi broke a deadlock early in the third period to lift the Attack (18-14-4) over Kitchener (22-10-1).
