SAGINAW, Mich. - Ryan O'Connor's power-play goal with 35 seconds to play in the third period gave the Saginaw Spirit a 5-4 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Josh Shalla and Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist each for Saginaw (14-18-2) while Jimmy Lodge and Steven Strong rounded out the scoring.

Chris Marchese scored twice for Windsor (17-16-4) as Kerby Rychel and Nick Czinder added singles.

Tadeas Galansky made 33 saves for the win while Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 36 shots in defeat.

Saginaw was a perfect 2-for-2 on the power play as Windsor failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

The win was the first for new head coach Greg Gilbert since taking over the Spirit earlier in the week.
