Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist joined NHL Live to discuss the Red Wings' efforts to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 23rd consecutive season.
Nyquist was named the NHL's "First Star" for the weekend ending March 23, 2014 after leading all players with six goals and tying for the League lead with seven points to help Detroit (33-24-14, 80 points) earn seven of a possible eight points and move into the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
"It's been pretty crazy with all the injuries," Nyquist said. "But we've said in the locker room we're going to make these playoffs no matter who's out there. We can't worry about that too much.
"We look at the standings, we have a board in the locker room that shows us. Of course we know it's tight and it's going to be a tight race all the way until the end here for the last playoff spot."
