For the second consecutive game, David Krejci
provided the offensive heroics against Philadelphia. But it wouldn’t have been possible without the otherworldly goaltending of Tim Thomas
. Krejci scored the OT winner 14 minutes into the extra period and Thomas stopped 52 Flyers shots as the Bruins won two games on the road to take a 2-0 series lead.
After losing convincingly to the Bruins in Game 1, the Flyers stormed out to an early lead on James van Riemsdyk
’s goal just 29 seconds into the game. The young forward got his second of the game later in the period and Philadelphia appeared on its way to tying the series. But two Boston goals 1:25 apart tied the game before the end of the opening period and Thomas took over from there, stopping 32 shots in the third period and overtime to give the Bruins a chance to win.
