Skip to main content Live at the Fantasy Draft

RALEIGH -- Toss out all of your mock drafts because it's time for the real thing.

The 2011 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft powered by Cisco is about to get under way at the Raleigh Convention Center and the buzz is absolutely electric here. The players have all arrived with their families, wives, parents, girlfriends, etc. Just like all of us, they're all wondering how this thing is going to shake out.

Who goes first? Who goes last? Will Daniel and Henrik Sedin be together or separated? Will Eric Staal pick his brother Marc? Will Patrick Kane advise Nicklas Lidstrom to skip on Jonathan Toews?

Toews has his parents, Brian and Andree here, and both said they'll be a lot less nervous tonight than they were at the 2006 Entry Draft. Of course, if it gets down to the 15th round and their boy hasn't been picked, then yes, they may start sweating.

OK, there are storylines aplenty here in Raleigh and we're going to bring it to you live.

I'm handling the play-by-play right here on this blog and Dave Lozo will be coming in periodically with the color commentating. So, yeah, this blog promises to be as entertaining as the show itself, which you can watch live on Versus in the United States and TSN in Canada.

We'll be back soon. Stay tuned.
