VANCOUVER - The Stanley Cup-champion Boston Bruins have signed Vancouver Giants goaltender Adam Morrison to a three-year entry level contract.
Morrison, 21, was an unrestricted free agent after the Philadelphia Flyers did not sign him within two years of selecting him in the third round (81st overall) of the 2009 NHL entry draft.
"I know I still have work to do now that they have committed to me for the next three years, but it is exciting in the sense that I'm joining an organization with a winning tradition and a rich history in the NHL," said Morrison in a release issued by the Giants. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity."
In 56 games with the Giants and Saskatoon Blades, Morrison is 35-17-2-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average, .900 save percentage, and one shutout.
The Giants acquired the White Rock, B.C., native in an October trade after he spent three seasons with the Blades as a backup. This season has been his first as a full-time WHL starter.
