Mike Brown scores deciding goal in shootout as Broncos remain perfect with 3-2 win over Ice @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Mike Brown scored the winner in the shootout as the Swift Current Broncos edged the Kootenay Ice 3-2 in WHL action Saturday night.

Grant Toulmin gave the Broncos the lead on the power play with his first of the season halfway through the first period.

The Ice tied the match after John Negrin skated around four players in the Broncos zone and found Dustin Sylvester in the slot who tallied his third of the season.

With 38 seconds left in the second period, Keegan Dansereau jumped on a bad clearing pass and beat Thomas Heemskerk to make it 2-1 for Swift Current (6-0-0).

Ian Barteaux counted his first goal of the season when he wired it past Broncos goalie Mark Guggenberger to tie the game at 2-2.

Guggenberger stopped 26 of 28 shots to earn the win while Thomas Heemskerk made 19 saves in net for the Ice.
