EDMONTON - Medicine Hat got a 23 save performance from midget triple-A call-up Tyler Bunz and the Tigers scored five goals in the first period en route to a 6-3 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Jeff Lee was the only Oil King who could beat Bunz, scoring a third period hat-trick on the young goalie from the St. Albert Raiders.

Tyler Ennis opened the scoring for Medicine Hat (40-21-5-2) with a slapshot that eluded Oil King goaltender Alex Archibald's glove side.

Just 33 seconds later, Daine Todd converted a two on one off an Ennis pass past Dalyn Flette who briefly replaced Archibald, followed 55 seconds after that by a Bendfeld shot off the half-wall with Archibald back between the pipes.

Flette continued the rest of the game for Edmonton (20-35-4-7) after that.

Yashar Farmanara extended the lead to four on a two-man advantage, on a pass from Wacey Hamilton, who then notched the Tigers fifth goal as a point-shot deflected right onto his stick to Flette's right side.

Shayne Brown gave the Tigers a 6-0 lead early in the second with a point shot that squeaked through Flette's pads.

Notes: Medicine Hat has swept the eight game series, including one overtime and one shootout victory. Ennis' three point night (1-2) extended his scoring streak to eight games (6-7) while Brennan Bosch recorded an assist to extend his to five (2-3).
