McAvoy's two third-period goals propel Swift Current past Saskatoon 3-2

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Overage defenceman Spencer McAvoy scored a pair of goals 2:24 apart early in the third period to help lead the Swift Current Broncos to a 3-2 win over the visiting Saskatoon Blades in WHL action Friday.

The Broncos also had a goal from overage forward Keegan Dansereau, with his second of the year, while helping Swift Current open the season with a 3-0-0-0 record. Saskatoon (1-2-0-0) replied with goals from Curtis Hamilton and Milan Kytnar.

Swift Current netminder Mark Guggenberger posted his first win of the season with a 29-save performance.

Saskatoon goaltender Braden Holtby turned aside 35 of 38 shots in the loss.
