Matthias scores two, adds three assists as Belleville beats Kingston 8-1 @NHLdotcom

KINGSTON, Ont. - Shawn Matthias scored twice and added three assists as the Belleville Bulls routed the Kingston Frontenacs 8-1 Friday in the OHL season opener for both teams.

Bryan Cameron and Matt Beleskey each had a pair of goals while P.K. Subban and Tyler Randell, with his first career OHL goal, added singles for the Bulls. Belleville won despite being outshot 34-33 by the Frontenacs.

Rookie Andris Dzerins had the lone goal for Kingston, ending Bulls netminder Mike Murphy's shutout bid with less than seven minutes left in regulation.

Jason Guy absorbed the loss in goal for the Frontenacs.
