Mark Guggenberger stops 22 shots as Swift Current blanks Chilliwack 2-0 @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Mark Guggenberger stopped all 22 shots he faced to backstop the Swift Current Broncos to a 2-0 shutout win over the visiting Chilliwack Bruins.

Guggenberger now has four shutouts in eight games since joining the Broncos from the Portland Winter Hawks at the trade deadline.

Bruins netminder Matt Esposito was nearly equally impressive in a losing effort, turning aside 29 of 31 shots and not allowing a goal until the third period.

Swift Current had third period goals from Matt Tassone and Jesse Dudas.

With the win the Broncos improve to 37-22-15 and remain a point ahead of Moose Jaw for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Chilliwack ended their first ever East Division road trip winless at 0-5-1-0. The Bruins fall to 26-32-4-4 and remain seventh in Western Conference.
