MOLINE, Ill. - Mark Cullen scored the game-winning goal as the Manitoba Moose extended their winning-streak to seven games with a 3-1 victory over the Quad City Flames in the AHL Saturday.
Cullen's goal extended his point streak to seven-games, while goaltender Karl Goehring stopped 38 of 39 attempts for his second win.
At 7:06 of the first Flames defenceman Brett Palin took a blast from the point and hit the back of Goehring's net, putting his sqaud on top of the Moose (7-2-0-0) by one.
Manitoba's power-play unit made their debut at 2:46 into the middle frame when Cam Cunning was penalized for hooking. Defenceman Jimmy Sharrow took a quick shot from inside the circle and Michel Ouellet tipped it in to close the gap at one.
At 16:02 of the third Moose's power-play unit capitalized for the second time of the night. With help from Jason Jaffray and Michel Ouellet, Cullen hit the back of the net to put the visitors up 2-1.
Minutes later Michael Grabner confirmed the victory by scoring an empty-netter to finish the game 3-1.
Matt Keetley, who was in net for the Flames (3-7-1-0), stopped 18-of-20 shots.
