Machac scores hat trick to lead the Battalion over the IceDogs 6-4

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Rookie Patrik Machac picked up his first Ontario Hockey League hat trick as the Brampton Battalion skated to a 6-4 win over the Niagara IceDogs in OHL action on Friday night.

Spencer Abraham, Barclay Goodrow and Matt MacLeod rounded out the scoring for the Battalion (11-6-2).

Steven Shipley, Milan Doudera, Ryan Strome and Dougie Hamilton scored for the IceDogs (8-9-2).

Matej Machovsky made 25 saves for the win while Mark Visentin stopped 21 shots in defeat.

Brampton went 1-for-4 on the power play while Niagara failed to capitalize on five opportunities with the man advantage.
