MacArthur scores overtime winner as Rochester gets past Hamilton 5-4 @NHL

HAMILTON - Clarke MacArthur scored in the sixth round of the shootout to lead the Rochester Americans to a 5-4 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs in American Hockey League action Friday night.

MacArthur was stopped on his first attempt, but made no mistake on his second try as the Americans (2-1-1-0) ended a two-game losing streak. Stefan Meyer, Marek Zagrapan, Anthony Stewart and Tanner Glass scored in regulation for Rochester, while Adam Dennis earned the win with 41 saves - including five in overtime.

Matt D'Agostini countered with a pair of goals for the Bulldogs (1-0-0-1), who opened their regular season with a 3-2 overtime win over the Americans on Sunday. Sergei Kostitsyn and Maxim Lapierre added singles.

Hamilton starting netminder Jaroslav Halak was pulled after allowing four goals on 17 shots. Yann Danis stopped all 18 shots he faced in relief.
