Lowe scored late as Oil Kings come back to beat Ice 4-3, take 2-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - Keegan Lowe scored late in the third period and as the Edmonton Oil Kings came back to beat the Kootenay Ice 4-3 in Western Hockey League playoff action Sunday.

The Oil Kings, ranked first in the Western Conference, took a 2-0 lead in the beast-of-seven first-round series. Game 3 is Wednesday in Cranbrook, B.C.

Michael St. Croix, Tyler Maxwell and Curtis Lazar also scored for Edmonton, which trailed 3-2 entering the third period. Lazar and Lowe scored less than two minutes apart.

Drew Czerwonka, Jesse Ismond and Joey Leach replied for Kootenay.

Laurent Brossoit made 22 saves for Edmonton, while Natahn Lieuwen stopped 41 shots for Kootenay.
