Late goals help Tri-City beat Chiefs 4-3 for ninth straight win @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Brooks Macek and Spencer Asuchak scored 41 seconds apart late in the third period to rally the Tri-City Americans to a wild 4-3 victory over the Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Spokane's Tyler Johnson scored on penalty shot six minutes into the third to give the Chiefs a 3-2 lead, but a power-play goal by Macek tied the game with six minutes remaining and Asuchak scored less than a minute later to put the Americans ahead for good.

Sergei Drozd and Brett Plouffe also scored for Tri-City (11-2-0), with Drozd also adding two assists.

Drew Owsley finished with 29 saves for the Americans, who ran their win streak to nine straight. The franchise record is 10, set back in the 1991-92 season.

Kenton Miller and Matt Marantz also scored for the Chiefs (5-4-1), while James Reid stopped 18 shots.
