Kyle MacKinnon, J.C. Lipon lead IceCaps in 5-4 shootout win over Wolf Pack @NHLdotcom

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Kyle MacKinnon and J.C. Lipon scored in a shootout to lift the St. John's IceCaps to their third straight victory with a 5-4 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack in American Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Scott Kosmachuk and Blair Riley scored back-to-back goals in the third period to tie the game for St. John's (22-22-7), John Albert had a goal and an assist and Brenden Kichton also scored. Will O'Neill chipped in with three helpers.

Chris Bourque had a goal and two assists for the Wolf Pack (26-15-7), who have dropped four straight. Chris Mueller, Justin Vaive and Ryan Haggerty rounded out the offence.

IceCaps goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves, including one on a penalty shot in overtime, and turned away 2-of-3 Hartford skaters in the shootout.

Hartford's Yann Danis stopped 31 shots through regulation and OT and made one save on three attempts in the shootout.

St. John's was 2 for 7 on the power play while the Wolf Pack scored twice on six chances with the man advantage.
