Kurtis Mucha turns aside 30 shots to lead Blazers over Portland 5-4 @NHL

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Goaltender Kurtis Mucha turned aside 30 shots to lead the Kamloops Blazers to a 5-4 WHL victory over the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday night.

Mucha was acquired by the Blazers from Portland on Nov. 22. He had spent four-plus seasons with the Winterhawks.

Colin Smith, Jake Trask, Austin Madaisky, Dalibor Bortnak and Bronson Maschmeyer scored for the Blazers (20-20-5).

Luke Walker, Nino Niederreiter and Oliver Gabriel replied for Portland(26-17-1-1) which trailed 5-1 before scoring three late goals.

Portland goaltender Ian Curtis turned aside 21 shots.
