Kuemper makes 33 saves as Rebels top Kootenay Ice 3-1 @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Red Deer Rebels goalie Darcy Kuemper made 33 saves in a 3-1 win over the Kootenay Ice in WHL action on Tuesday Night.

The Ice opened the scoring on a power play as Max Reinhart passed to Dominik Pacovsky who redirected the puck into the net. The Rebels (22-34-1-9) tied the game 1-1 early in the second period as Landon Ferraro scored on a partial breakaway with a wrist shot high on the glove side.

The Rebels took a 2-1 lead on a defelection from Adam Kambeitz.

Ferraro added an empty-netter.

Todd Mathews made 20 saves for Kootenay (31-27-2-6).
