Kirkpatrick scores twice as Sea Dogs take Game 1 of semifinal series against Tigres 4-2 @NHLdotcom

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Michael Kirkpatrick scored twice and the Saint John Sea Dogs rallied late to beat Victoriaville Tigres 4-2 in Game 1 of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series.

Brandon Hynes and Guillaume Goulet opened a 2-0 lead for Victoriaville in the first period before Kirkpatrick scored his first.

After a scoreless second period, Mike Hoffman tied the game at 3:06 in the third, then Mike Thomas and Kirkpatrick added goals for the win.

Sea Dogs goaltender Marco Cousineau made 30 saves, while at the other end Kevin Poulin stopped 25 shots.

The series continues in Saint John on Saturday.
