Kings' Doughty leaves with upper-body injury @NHLdotcom

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Defenseman Drew Doughty has left the Los Angeles Kings' game against the Carolina Hurricanes because of an upper-body injury.

The Kings said the Norris Trophy finalist is unlikely to return Wednesday night.

Doughty apparently was hurt late in the first period, and he didn't return to the bench in the second period.

The 20-year-old has just one assist in Los Angeles' first five games. He had 16 goals and 43 assists last season, his second full NHL campaign.

Los Angeles and Carolina were tied 3-3 heading to the third period.
