Kennedy's shootout goal leads Guelph to 6-5 win over Kitchener @NHLdotcom

GUELPH, Ont. - Matt Kennedy scored in the fourth round of the shootout Sunday to lead the Guelph Storm to a 6-5 win over the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Kennedy, Francis Menard, Peter Holland, Taylor Beck and Adam Comrie had goals in regulation for the Storm (1-2-1), who blew a two-goal lead in the final minute of the third period.

Michael Catenacci, Jason Akeson, Chris MacKinnon, Jeff Skinner and Gabriel Landeskog replied for the Rangers (2-0-1).

Matt Hoyle made 40 saves in regulation and overtime and another four in the shootout to preserve the win for Guelph.

Kitchener netminder Brandon Maxwell stopped 43 shots in defeat.
