Johnston scores game winner, adds two assists as Belleville beats Ottawa 5-3 @NHLdotcom

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Stephen Johnston scored the game winner midway through the second period and added a pair of assists as the Belleville Bulls downed the Ottawa 67's 5-3 in OHL action Monday afternoon.

Johnston's goal at 12:50 of the period, his first of the season, put the Bulls (7-3-0-0) ahead for good in a game where they had squandered three earlier one-goal leads. Nick Pageau led the way with a pair of goals, while P.K. Subban also had a goal and two assists in the victory.

Cory Tanaka had the other Belleville goal, while Mike Murphy preserved the win with a 28-save performance.

Thomas Nesbitt, Thomas Kiriakou and Corey Cowick replied for the 67's (5-5-0-0), while Chris Perugini turned aside 27 shots in defeat.
