OSHAWA, Ont. - Boone Jenner scored twice to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 3-2 win over the visiting Niagara IceDogs on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

The victory moves Oshawa into second-round play while Niagara has been eliminated from the post-season after dropping the first-round matchup 4-1.

Bradley Latour also scored for the Generals and Matt Petgrave picked up two assists.

Ryan Strome and Carter Verhaeghe scored for the IceDogs.

Jenner scored the opening goal 9:38 into the game, lifting a rebound high past goalie Christopher Festarini for Oshawa's first power-play goal in 21 attempts in the series.

Strome evened the score on a power play late in the first period, but Jenner got that back 25 seconds later on a Scott Sabourin pass.

Latour upped the Oshawa lead to 3-1 six minutes into the second period on a pin-point shot just inside the post.

Verhaeghe brought the IceDogs to within a goal late in the second after burying a high shot past Oshawa goalie Daniel Altshuller off a rebound.

Althsuller finished the game with 18 saves for the win as Festarini stopped 32 shots in defeat.

Oshawa went 1 for 6 on the power play while Niagara scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

The Generals must wait for the series between the Belleville Bulls and Mississauga Steelheads to wrap up before they know who they will face in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. The Bulls and Steelheads are currently tied at two games apiece with Game 5 set for Saturday.
