Jenks scores twice, Gaynor pots winner as Plymouth edges Saginaw 4-3 @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - AJ Jenks scored twice, including the equalizer with less then a minute to go in the second period, and Joe Gaynor potted the winner with less than four minutes to go in the game to give the Plymouth Whalers a 4-3 win over the Saginaw Spirit in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.

The win gives the Whalers four straight over their cross-town rivals this season.

Patrick Lee also had a goal and an assist and Ryan Hayes added three assists for Plymouth (17-17-4-0).

Saginaw scored twice in the first period on goals from Jordan Skellett and Chris Chappell, only to see the Whalers come back to tie the game before the midway point of the game. Jordan Szwarz rounded out the scoring for Saginaw (21-14-0-2).

Matt Hackett stopped 33 shots in the win for the Whalers, while Spirit netminder Edward Pasquale made 25 saves.
