Isles' de Haan out for season with injured shoulder @NHL

Calvin de Haan, a 2009 first-round pick by the New York Islanders, will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his left shoulder while playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Isles' AHL affiliate.

De Haan was injured in the final minutes of the Sound Tigers' 3-2 win at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday night. The Sound Tigers tweeted on Monday that the 21-year-old defenseman will miss the remainder of the season.

The Ottawa native was taken by the Islanders with the 12th pick in the 2009 NHL Draft. He had two assists in three games with Bridgeport this season after scoring two goals and adding 14 assists in 56 games last season. He was scoreless in one game with the Islanders.
