Ice take 3-0 stranglehold of WHL playoff series with Tigers after 2-1 win @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Kootenay Ice goaltender Kris Lazaruk made 36 saves in a 2-1 win over Medicine Hat in Western Hockey League playoff action on Tuesday night.

Kootenay opened the scoring on a 5-on-3 power-play as defenceman Chad Greenan received a pass from Steve DaSilva and scored on a slapshot. Matt Fraser made it 2-0 with a one-time shot in the slot after receiving a pass from the corner from Michael Stickland.

Mikael Ahlen scored for the Tigers early in the third period on a wrist shot that deflected of an Ice stick and went in off the cross bar.

Ryan Holfeld stopped 35 shots for the Tigers.

Kootenay leads best of seven series 3-0 with Game 4 in Cranbrook on Wednesday.
