BRAMPTON, Ont. - Cody Hodgson and Jason Dale each had a goal and an assist as the Brampton Battalion doubled up on the Barrie Colts 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.
Sam Carrick and Matt Duchene also tallied for the surging Battalion (7-6-0-0), who have won five straight games and now find themselves back on top of the Eastern Conference's Central Division. The Battalion outshot the Colts 52-23.
Darren Archibald and Stefan Della Rovere replied for Barrie (6-5-1-0).
After a scoreless opening period, Carrick found the net on the power play at 14:06 of the second period, putting a backhander past Barrie goaltender Michael Hutchinson.
Hodgson added to the Battalion's lead with a short-handed goal 28 seconds into the third, beating Hutchinson high glove side on a breakaway before Archibald brought the Colts to within a goal. After the teams traded goals later in the period, Duchene scored the insurance goal with 1:39 remaining, firing a powerful wrister past Hutchinson.
