CALGARY - Calgary Hitmen forward Brandon Kozun is the WHL's player of the week.
Kozun had three goals and six assists in helping the Hitmen win all four games they played last week.
Kozun had the winning goal and an assist in Calgary's 6-4 road win over the Saskatoon Blades last Tuesday. The following night, he had a goal and two assists in an 8-4 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders.
On Saturday, Kozun scored his second game-winning-goal in three games and added an assist in the Hitmen's 4-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels. Then on Sunday, he added two assists in a 402 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Kozun leads the WHL in scoring with 60 points (27 goals, 33 assists) in 40 games.
Kootenay Ice rookie Nathan Liewen is the goalie of the week. He posted a 2-0-0-1 record with one shutout, and allowed just three goals while registering a .956 save percentage.
Liewen, 17, is 13th among all WHL goaltenders with a 2.87 goals-against average and was recently named to participate in the 2009 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects game next month in Oshawa, Ont.
