Harper, Maxwell each score twice as Everett breezes past Spokane 5-1

SPOKANE, Wash. - Shane Harper and Tyler Maxwell each scored twice as the Everett Silvertips cruised to a 5-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs in WHL action Tuesday.

Harper's ninth and 10th goals of the season helped give the Silvertips (11-5-1) a 3-0 lead after two periods. Mitch Wahl trimmed the lead for Spokane (10-7-1) on a power play early in the third, but Maxwell followed with two goals 10 minutes apart to put the game away.

Byron Froese had a goal and an assist for Everett, while Thomas Heemskerk stopped 25 shots to preserve the victory.

Michael Tadjdeh made 29 saves in defeat for the Chiefs.
