Hamilton Bulldogs defenceman PK Subban named to AHL all-star team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Defenceman P.K. Subban of the Hamilton Bulldogs was named to the American Hockey League all-star team Thursday.

Subban recorded 52 points and a plus-43 rating in 71 games this season.

Subban, selected by Montreal with the 43rd overall pick of the 2007 NHL entry draft, set franchise records for goals (18), power-play goals (11), and points (52) by a defenceman in a single season.

He was joined on the first team by Manchester Monarchs goaltender Jonathan Bernier, Worcester Sharks defenceman Danny Groulx, right-winger Jerome Samson of the Albany River Rats and left-winger Alexandre Giroux and centre Keith Aucoin, both of the Hershey Bears.

Bulldogs goaltender Cedrick Desjardins was named to the second all-star team.

The second-team defence nods went to Maxim Noreau of the Houston Aeros and Clay Wilson of the Rochester Americans. The forward spots went to Springfield Falcons left-winger Charles Linglet, Hartford Wolf Pack centre Corey Locke and Hershey right-winger Andrew Gordon.
