Matt Hackett is doing his best to grab the attention of NHL scouts who passed him over in the 2008 entry draft.
Hackett posted another strong performance on Saturday night, stopping all 37 shots he faced as the Plymouth Whalers blanked the Owen Sound Attack 5-0 in the Ontario Hockey League.
Hackett, a native of London, Ont., is ranked eighth amongst North American goaltenders in the 2009 Central Scouting Bureau midseason report after being shut out of the preliminary rankings.
The nephew of former NHL goaltender Jeff Hackett is 5-1-0 with two shutouts so far in January, posting a 2.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .941 during that span.
On Saturday, Matt Caria led Plymouth's offence with a goal and three assists, while Chris Terry scored a pair for the Whalers (21-19-4-0).
Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Windsor 6, Barrie 1; Belleville 7 Sault Ste. Marie 1; Guelph 5, Oshawa 2; Ottawa 6, Peterborough 3; and Sarnia 4, Erie 3.
At Plymouth, Mich., Tyler G. Brown rounded out the scoring for the Whalers, who won their third straight.
Scott Stajcer made 22 saves for the Attack (16-18-6-4).
Spitfires 6, Colts 1
At Windsor, Ont., Justin Shugg scored twice and Greg Nemisz had a goal and two assists as the Spitfires hammered Barrie.
Scott Timmins and OHL scoring leader Taylor Hall both had a goal and an assist for Windsor (39-5-0-1). Ben Shutron also scored for the Spitfires, who extended their winning streak to a season-high 10 games.
Alex Hutchings' 23rd goal of the season on an unassisted short-handed effort was the only marker for the Colts (19-22-3-1).
Bulls 7, Greyhounds 1
At Belleville, Ont., Bryan Cameron and Eric Tangradi both scored twice as the Bulls cruised past Sault Ste. Marie.
Luke Judson added a goal and three assists while Brandon Mashinter and Nick Palmieri also scored for Belleville (29-13-2-2). Tangradi and Palmieri each added an assist.
The Greyhounds (16-26-2-1) could only manage one power-play goal, scored by Jordan Nolan late in the second period.
Storm 5, Generals 2
At Oshawa, Ont., Matt Kennedy scored as Guelph defeated the Generals.
Michael Latta, Tyler Carroll and Ryan Baldwin also scored for the Storm (26-15-2-3).
Brett Valliquette and Calvin de Haan responded for Oshawa (20-18-1-4).

At Peterborough, Ont., Corey Cowick had two goals and two assists as Ottawa took control in the third period to beat the Petes.
Tyler Toffoli, Thomas Kiriakou and Logan Couture had goal and assist each for the 67's (25-15-2-2) while Riley Sonnenburg added a single.
Zack Kassian had a goal and assist for Peterborough (18-26-0-2) while Tony Romano and Justin Larson also scored.
Sting 4, Otters 3
At Erie, Pa., Daniel Broussard and Jamie Arniel scored 23 seconds apart in the third period as Sarnia edged the Otters.
Jesse Stoughton and Michael Neal added goals for the Sting (22-18-2-3).
Shawn Szydlowski and Ryan O'Reilly had a goal and an assist each for Erie (21-21-2-0). Sean Jones also scored.
