PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Darcy Greenaway scored two goals and added an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs defeated the host Peterborough Petes 7-3 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Petr Beranek had two goals for the Frontenacs (11-23-4), Jack Nevins scored a goal and two assists while Billy Jenkins and Trevor Morbeck had a goal and an assist apiece. Cody Alcock chipped in with two assists.
Steven Trojanovic led the Petes (17-15-6) offensively with a goal and an assist as Joey West and Stephen Pierog scored a goal each.
Igor Bobkov made 26 saves for the win while Mike Morrison allowed six goals on 41 shots before being pulled in the third period.
Andrew D'Agostini came on in relief and stopped seven of eight shots.
Kingston went 2 for 6 on the power play as Peterborough failed to score on four opportunities with the man advantage.
Trojanovic scored the only goal of the first period 17:23 into the game, giving the Petes a 1-0 lead.
Morbeck tied it up near the midway mark of the second.
Then both clubs exploded for four goals in 2:34.
Greenaway gave the Frontenacs their first lead at 15:16, West evened it up 31 seconds later, then Jenkins scored on the power play just 16 seconds after that.
Pierog added the final goal of the period, tying the game at 3-3 heading into the third.
Kingston dominated the third, scoring four straight goals.
Nevins scored 1:20 into the final period, followed by Beranek at 6:57, Greenaway at 11:29 and then Beranek again at 12:29.
