HAMILTON - Jamie Johnson had two goals and an assist and Chris Connor and Doug Janik each added a goal and two assists Friday as the Grand Rapids Griffins thumped the Hamilton Bulldogs 8-0 in the American Hockey League.
Francis Pare, with a goal and an assist, Louis-Marc Aubry, Thomas Tatar and Landon Ferraro also scored for Grand Rapids (6-7-0).
Gustav Nyquist added three assists for the Griffins, who got 29 saves from Jordan Pearce in the shutout.
Nathan Lawson started for Hamilton (5-7-1) and allowed seven goals on 41 shots through two periods. Robert Mayer played the third and allowed one goal on 10 shots.
Leading 2-0 after the first, the Griffins exploded in the second. Johnson scored his second of the night at 6:04 on the power play.
Grand Rapids added another goal at 9:49 when Conner buried a rebound past Lawson.
It was 5-0 at 16:24 when Tatar wired a shot home and Pare stretched the lead to six at 19:01 on the power play.
Grand Rapids scored its seventh, again on the power play, at 19:29 when Janik fired a rebound of the end boards.
Ferraro rounded out the scoring at 3:10 of the third.
