SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Barclay Goodrow's goal at 15:01 of the third period was the eventual game-winner as the Brampton Battalion beat the host Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Goodrow's goal gave Brampton a 4-2 lead as they held off a late push by the Greyhounds that had them score a goal in the final minute to cut the lead to one.
Dylan Blujus, Nick Paul and Nicholas Foglia also scored for the Battalion (10-8-5), who have picked up four straight wins.
Jared McCann scored a pair of goals for the Greyhounds (9-12-1), who have lost six contests in a row, while Andrew Fritsch added a goal and an assist.
Matej Machovsky made 30 saves for the victory as Justin Nichols stopped 42 shots in a losing cause.
The Battalion went 0-for-4 on the power play while the Greyhounds were 0-for-3.
