Giroux scores in double overtime, Olympiques beat Mooseheads 4-3 @NHLdotcom

HALIFAX - Claude Giroux scored his second goal of the game 7:06 into double overtime and the Gatineau Olympiques beat the Halifax Mooseheads 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action Sunday.

Gatineau beat Halifax in overtime for the second time in as many nights to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven semifinal series.

Game 3 is Wednesday in Gatineau, Que.

Alexandre Quesnel and Paul Byron also scored for Gatineau.

Bryce Swan, Peter-James Corsi and Tomas Knotek replied for Halifax.

Ryan Mior was stellar for the Olympiques, making 47 saves, including 16 in the first overtime, to get the win.

Mooseheads goalie Mark Yetman made 33 saves in a losing cause.
