ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Colby Genoway's shootout goal was the deciding factor as the Manitoba Moose escaped with a 6-5 win over the Rochester Americans in AHL action Friday.
With the Americans leading 5-3 in the third period, Brad Moran scored at 9:05 to pull Manitoba within one before Jozef Balej, who also scored in shootout, tied it at 13:19 to force overtime.
Jason Jaffray led the charge for the Moose (3-1-1-0), scoring a goal and two assists in regulation, while Genoway and Michael Grabner added singles.
Clarke MacArthur dominated offensively for Rochester (2-4-1-1), scoring two goals and adding an assist marker on one of two goals by Martin Lojek. Drew Larman scored the other Rochester goal.
Cory Schneider delivered a 32-save performance for Manitoba, while Adam Dennis stopped 27 of 32 for the Americans.
