Gallagher and Tvrdon combine for eight points as Giants take 2-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

VANCOUVER - Brendan Gallagher and Marek Tvrdon each had two goals and two assists as the Vancouver Giants defeated the visiting Spokane Chiefs 7-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League playoff action.

Jordan Matinook had a goal and three assists for the Giants, which gives him back-to-back four-point games to open the series.

Neil Manning also scored twice while Brett Kulak chipped in with two assists.

Mitch Holmberg had two goals for the Chiefs as Steven Kuhn picked up a goal and an assist.

Adam Morrison turned away 38 shots for the win while Mac Engel allowed five goals on 17 shots before getting pulled in the second period.

Eric Williams stopped 10 of 12 shots in relief.

The Giants now hold a 2-0 lead in the series with Game 3 scheduled for Tuesday in Spokane.
