BOSTON (AP) -The Boston Bruins have rewarded goalie Tim Thomas with a new multiyear contract.
The team announced the extension Friday for Thomas. He appeared in his second consecutive NHL All-Star game in January. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Thomas leads the league in goals against average (2.11) and save percentage (.932). He has 33 wins this season for the Bruins, who with five games left in the regular season lead the Eastern Conference with 110 points.
The 34-year-old Thomas could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
