When two top-ranked teams meet, it's supposed to be a close game.
That wasn't the case Friday night as Gabriel Dumont scored in each period and the Drummondville Voltigeurs blasted the Quebec Remparts 8-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Goaltender Jake Allen stopped 17 shots for the win. Allen was named the QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 15.
The Voltigeurs have now won six games in a row as they build their lead over the Victoriaville Tigres in the Central Division. Drummondville has won eight of their last 10.
Quebec is still in first place in the East Division, with seven wins in their last 10 games.

At Drummondville, Que., Jonathan Brunelle had a pair of goals for the Voltigeurs (41-15-2), while Philippe Bergeron Andrew Randazzo and Olivier Hotte also tallied.
Dmitri Kugryshev and Martin Lefebvre provided the offence for the Remparts (36-17-7).

At Sydney, N.S., Nick MacNeil and Luke Adam had a goal and two assists as Cape Breton flew past Halifax.
Viktor Hertzberg had a short-handed marker for the Screaming Eagles (34-20-5), while Ashton Bernard, Mathieu Brodeur and Jacob Lagace added singles.
Gerrad Grant scored twice for the Mooseheads (13-41-5), while Travis Randell and Bradley MacDonald had markers.

At Moncton, N.B., Nicola Riopel stopped 20 shuts as the Wildcats crushed Rimouski.
Nicolas Deschamps, Scott Brannon and Randy Cameron all had a pair of goals for Moncton (39-13-5), while Daniel Pettersson and Kirill Kabanov also tallied.
Matthew Dopud made 39 saves for the Oceanic (29-23-6).

At Charlottetown, P.E.I., Benjamin Casavant scored twice to lead P.E.I. past Shawinigan.
Jarrad Struthers and Jonathan Bonneau had the other goals for the Rocket (31-20-7).
Michael Bournival and Antoine Houde-Caron replied for the Cataractes (28-25-7).

At Val-d'Or, Que., Dominic Jalbert had the overtime winner as Chicoutimi edged the Foreurs.
Alexandre Lavoie and Alexis Piette had the other goals for the Sagueneens (23-27-8).
Matthieu Theriault and Cedrick Henley provided the offence for Val-d'Or (22-30-7).
