Goaltender Karri Ramo and forward Josh Jooris were placed on injured reserve Thursday, the Calgary Flames announced.
Ramo left his start against the Detroit Red Wings at 10:11 of the second period Wednesday after colliding with Flames defenseman Raphael Diaz when he left his crease to play the puck. Jooris took regular shifts throughout the game.
The Flames did not disclose what the injuries were to either player, but coach Bob Hartley said, "I don't think Karri will be out for a long time."
The Flames recalled goalie Joni Ortio and forward Markus Granlund from Adirondack of the American Hockey League.
Ortio was named to the roster of the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic on Tuesday. He has 17 wins and a 2.52 goals-against average for Adirondack this season. He was 4-5-0 with a 2.84 GAA in nine games for the Flames last season.
Granlund has five goals and 13 points in 29 games with the Flames this season. He is in the top-15 in the NHL among rookies in goals, assists, and points.
