The Calgary Flames
placed defenseman Mark Giordano
on injured reserve Wednesday with a hamstring injury.
The 28-year-old was injured when he stretched to block a first-period shot during Tuesday's 1-0 home win against Nashville. He left the game and didn't return.
Giordano has four goals and four assists in 23 games this season. In his career, he netted 32 goals and 84 assists in 300 games, all with the Flames.
Calgary also sent defenseman Brett Carson
to their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Heat, on a conditioning assignment. Carson, who turned 26 on Tuesday, hasn’t played this season due to an offseason back injury.
