Brian Burke, Calgary Flames president of hockey operations, will serve as grand marshal of the Calgary Pride Parade on Sunday.
"I am very pleased and proud to be chosen as parade grand marshal for this year's Pride Parade," Burke said. "I'm looking forward to Sunday and marching alongside other members of our community including You Can Play and several representatives from Calgary Sports and Entertainment."
Flames captain Mark Giordano, center Matt Stajan and forward Mason Raymond will join Burke in the parade.
"I feel it's just a good thing for myself and the Flames organization to represent and to go out there," Raymond told the Calgary Herald. "That's a proud community and they should be. We're there to support them."
Also marching are members of Canada's Olympic team and players from the Calgary Inferno of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.
